At the 2020 China Development Forum held on the evening of November 11, Axel von Tosenberg, Executive Vice President of Operations of the World Bank, said: Under the epidemic, the global economy is in deep recession, making it the poorest in the world. The region and population of China have caused severe blows.

It is estimated that as many as 150 million people may fall into extreme poverty by 2021 .

At present, affected by the second round of the epidemic, many developed economies are in increasingly difficult conditions and debt pressure continues to increase.

Solutions to these global challenges require strong international cooperation, and China’s role in this regard is crucial.
