WHO Director-General Tedrost said that the number of coronavirus vaccinations worldwide has exceeded the total number of people infected with COVID-19, and it is good news that remarkable achievements have been achieved in such a short time.
Tedros also stressed that countries should give priority to vaccinating people who are most at risk of severe illness or death from COVID-19, such as the elderly and health workers.
But in some countries, it is unacceptable to say that “the death of the elderly is irrelevant”.
