On February 19th, local time, European Commission President von der Leyen attended the Munich Security Conference and delivered a speech, focusing on the two major issues of climate change and digital transformation.
On climate change, von der Leyen talked about the EU’s actions to combat climate change, including the goal of achieving carbon neutrality on the European continent by 2050.
Von der Leyen said that achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050, as a shared commitment on both sides of the Atlantic, will make carbon neutralization a new global benchmark.
On the issue of digital transformation, she invited the United States to join the EU initiative to regulate the digital market and jointly create rules for the digital economy.
