Hanoi, December 1 According to the Ministry of Health of Vietnam released on November 30, a 32-year-old man in Ho Chi Minh City in the south of the country was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus, the first confirmed case of COVID-19 reported in Vietnam in nearly three months.
According to the Vietnam News Agency, the patient had been exposed to an imported case confirmed earlier. Preliminary investigation has traced 38 close contacts and 154 indirect contacts of this indigenous case, and the relevant departments are quarantined and sampling these contacts and continue to track other relevant contacts. Vietnam’s Ministry of Health has asked Ho Chi Minh City to temporarily blockade and disinfect the various places the patient has visited.
Vietnam’s Ministry of Health also reported three new imported cases on November 30. As of the evening of November 30, local time, a total of 1,347 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 35 deaths in Vietnam. Previously, Vietnam had no confirmed cases in China for 89 consecutive days.
