On the 20th local time, the Russian side refuted the United States and Britain’s claims that Russia launched hacking attacks against some countries and international organizations, pointing out that the accusations made by the United States and Britain were baseless and meaningless.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out on the 20th that Russia is tired of commenting on such customary accusations. The accusations made by the United States and Britain are intended to create an anti-Russian atmosphere in the context of the US election.

In addition, the Russian Embassy in the United States also refuted the US accusations that Russian citizens were carrying out hacking and sabotage activities on a global scale. 

A spokesperson for the Russian embassy said: “It is obvious that this type of information is completely inconsistent with the facts, and the purpose is only to arouse anti-Russian sentiment in American society.”

It is understood that the U.S. Department of Justice announced in a statement on the 19th the allegations against six Russian intelligence service officers, saying they have targeted U.S.

medical and commercial institutions, Ukrainian government departments and important infrastructure, British defense technology laboratories.

The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, Georgian companies and government agencies, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, etc. carried out cyber attacks.

On the same day, the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued a statement stating that the Russian General Intelligence Agency carried out cyber attacks on major sports events such as the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in South Korea and the Tokyo Olympics originally scheduled to be held in 2020.
