Overseas Network, November 4, Foreign media reported that the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Dubai Chief Al Maktoum (Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum) stated that he has been vaccinated against the Coronavirus.
According to a report by Aljazeera.com on the 3rd, Al Maktoum shared a photo on social media that day. The photo showed that he was being vaccinated with the Coronavirus vaccine developed by Sinopharm.
Al Maktoum also wrote: “We wish everyone safety and health, and we are proud of our team’s tireless efforts to provide vaccines in the UAE.”
The report pointed out that the vaccine was developed by China National Pharmaceutical Group and is currently in the third and final stage of clinical trials.
Local media quoted the UAE government to point out that the vaccine is safe and effective.
According to reports, before Al Maktoum was vaccinated, ten other UAE officials had been vaccinated against Coronavirus, including the country’s foreign minister, health minister and cabinet affairs minister.
In addition, front-line medical staff in the UAE will also receive the vaccine.
On July 16 this year, the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Health, the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention, Abu Dhabi Health Service Company and the UAE technology giant G42 Group cooperated with the Chinese vaccine developer-China National Pharmaceutical Group to launch the third phase of the Coronavirus vaccine in the UAE Clinical Trials. On September 15, the UAE urgently approved the use of the Chinese Coronavirus vaccine.
The UAE Ministry of Health issued a news on the 3rd, pointing out that 1,008 new cases of the Coronavirus and 6 deaths were added. Currently, the total number of cases in the country is 136,149, and the number of deaths due to the pandemic is 503.
