On October 25, local time, the US Vice President Pence’s office stated that Vice President Pence would not self-isolate, even though four of his close staff members tested positive for Covid-19.

Vice President’s spokesperson Devin O’Malley said in a statement issued on the evening of the 24th that Pence’s Chief of Staff Mark Short was in isolation after testing positive on the 24th.

According to NBC News, the vice president’s senior political adviser Matti Obst and two other aides also tested positive. O’Malley also stated in the statement that both Pence and second lady Karen Pence tested negative and were “well.”

Pence will not change his itinerary and will hold a campaign rally in Kingston, North Carolina later on the 25th. Polls in the state show that the Democratic presidential candidate Biden leads Trump by more than one percentage point.

O’Malley said in the statement: “Although Vice President Pence maintains close contact with Mr. Short, after consulting with the White House medical department, the Vice President will maintain its schedule in accordance with the CDC guidelines for important personnel.
