January 13th – According to a Bloomberg report on the 12th, a group of Republicans has submitted a resolution to the U.S. House of Representatives condemning President Trump’s attempt to overthrow the U.S. election results and inciting demonstrators to enter Congress.
The report pointed out that the wording of the condemnation resolution is similar to the impeachment clause proposed by the House Democrats, which also reflects the dispute within the Republican Party after the congressional riots.
Six Republicans supported the resolution, including Pennsylvania Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, who said: “President Trump’s attempt to undermine the election results is unreasonable and his words and deeds are unacceptable.”
The group’s condemnation resolution coincided with at least three Republican congressmen have expressed their support for impeachment of Trump, including Liz Cheney, the third Republican in the House of Representatives.
Cheney said that the president should intervene to stop the riot immediately, but Trump did not. U.S. media said that the House of Representatives is expected to vote on an impeachment clause “sedition” on the 13th local time.
