U.S. Representative Benny Thompson sued Trump and the former mayor of New York City for alleged inciting a congressional riot.

February 16th, local time, U.S. Representative Benny Thompson, on behalf of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), sued former President Trump in federal district court in Washington, D.C., for inciting the Capitol riots on January 6.

The lawsuit also named former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and two white extremist groups.

Last weekend, former U.S. President Trump was acquitted by the Senate in the second impeachment case, which also focused on the January 6 congressional riots.
