U.S. President-elect Biden appeared with key members of the economic team
December 1st U.S. President-elect Biden held a press conference in Delaware and appeared with key members of his economic team, including Janet Yellen, who was nominated as Secretary of the Treasury.
Yellen, who was the chairman of the Federal Reserve from 2014 to 2018, and was the first woman to hold the position. If confirmed by the Senate, Yellen will become the first female treasurer in American history.
Biden also introduced several members, including Nella Tanden, who was nominated as the director of the White House Administration and Budget Bureau. Biden said on the same day that his economic team was “first-class” and that these people would work together to revive the U.S. economy hit hard by the epidemic.
It is understood that the nominations of Yellen and others need to be approved by the Senate.
