Overseas Network, November 30th – U.S. media reported that the outgoing Trump administration is eager to build as many border walls as possible in the last weeks of power to fulfill Trump’s promise when he came to power four years ago. President-elect Biden has said he hopes to stop the construction of the border wall and open up immigration.

According to the New York Times on the 29th, the construction of the border wall is advancing at an alarming speed to ensure that no matter what the Biden administration decides in the future, the border wall can be preserved and become a political heritage of the Trump administration. Trump was sworn in four years ago and promised to build a towering wall on the border between the United States and Mexico, which symbolizes his determination to stop immigration from southern countries to the United States and establish a long-standing barrier.

According to the report, in southeastern Arizona, political differences surrounding the border wall project approved by Trump have turned ranchers against each other, neighbor feud, and the Democratic presidential candidate narrowly won the state for the first time in decades. The Peloncillo Mountains in the state are becoming one of the last centers of the Trump administration to build the wall, and blasters are stepping up the slicing operations and alarming the local herd.

Even those who hate the wall assess whether they will endure the existence of the border wall for decades based on the signals from Biden’s transition team. Although Biden has said that he will suspend construction of the new wall and other immigration bans, accept more refugees and relax asylum restrictions, the idea of tearing down the border wall is difficult for the public to accept. An adviser to the transition group said they had discussed some of the new government’s governance plans in obscure, and that most refused to dismantle any idea of the existing border wall, and one adviser even said that the existence of the border wall could be “distraction”.

According to the report, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials are still rushing to carry out Trump’s task of building 450 miles (about 724 kilometers) of the new wall during his term, which is almost double the speed of construction since the beginning of this year. As of November 13, the U.S. government had built a wall of 402 miles (about 647 kilometers).
