January 8th – A Republican congressman from West Virginia posted a video with hundreds of Trump supporters breaking into the U.S. Capitol on social media before deleting it. At present, the congressman is under investigation or will be prosecuted.

According to Fox News, the video shows Drake Evans wearing a helmet sandwiched among protesters and was crowding into the U.S. Capitol. Evans’ voice can be heard from the video: “We must go in! Everyone, go ahead quickly!” After that, Evans squeezed into the Rotunda of the Capitol, which displays many paintings and works of art, as well as statues of the late President of the United States.

Evans yelled his companions in the video: “Don’t destroy!”

“Evans should be subject to maximum legal prosecution,” said Republican Roger Hanshaw, Speaker of the West Virginia House of Representatives.

“Hanshaw is collecting more information about this violent conflict and, once the context is figured out, it will raise more possibilities,” House Rep.

Jared Ann told the Associated Press.
