January 27th local time, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued an early warning of domestic terrorism in the United States, saying that anti-government sentiment incited after the election may lead to the continuation of the violence.
DHS did not mention specific threats, but said that “the overall environment in which the threat of the United States has intensified” will continue.
The Department of Homeland Security said that it had communicated with law enforcement and intelligence before issuing the early warning.
The warning said: “The message shows that some ideologically influenced anti-government extremist violent elements are incited by false statements and may continue to incite or act violently.”
