US Assistant Secretary of Health Brett Giruval said on the 18th that as the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread in the United States, the United States is in a “very dangerous situation.”
According to a report by the US Consumer News and Business Channel on the 18th, Giruval pointed out that the rate of hospitalizations and deaths from coronavirus in the United States has increased by an average of 25% every week. Currently, Giruval is also the head of the government’s coronavirus testing.
“The United States is now in an absolutely dangerous situation and we must take it seriously.” Giruval also said that this is the fastest increase in confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the United States, and there is no sign of slowing down.
According to the report, Giruval mentioned the vaccine developed by American companies Pfizer and Modena, and called this a “very positive (sign)”, but also warned that neither of these two vaccines could immediately end the development of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States. In this regard, Giruval emphasized that the government should formulate policies to restrict the gathering of people; and individuals need to wear masks and maintain social distance.
According to the National Pandemic Tracking Project initiated by the Atlantic Monthly, the number of hospitalized patients in the United States for coronavirus reached 76,800 local time on the 17th, setting a new record since the outbreak.
