Earlier, many Taiwanese and Japanese media quoted the Taiwan Defense Department and the Taiwan Navy Command Department as saying that the US Marine Corps commando had begun on the 9th at the Zuoying Naval Base in Kaohsiung to carry out related actions against the Taiwan Marine Corps and the Amphibious Special Service Squadron Training for assault boats and speed boats infiltration operations.
If the news is true, it will be the first public acknowledgment of such training activities by any of the Taiwan and the United States since the 1970s.
However, Pentagon spokesman John Supple said in a statement issued to The Stars and Stripes through the Indo-Pacific Command on the 11th that the report about the US Marine Corps in Taiwan was “inaccurate.”

China expresses its firm opposition and strong condemnation of the relations between the two militaries and the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait.
The Taiwan issue involves China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as China’s core interests. No foreign interference is allowed. To control China with Taiwan and resist reunification with force will ultimately be a dead end.
We require the US to fully recognize the serious harm of US arms sales to Taiwan, immediately cancel any arms sales plans to Taiwan, stop arms sales to Taiwan and US-Taiwan military ties, and handle Taiwan-related issues prudently and properly, so as not to jeopardize the relations between the two countries and the two militaries.
Peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait have caused incalculable and serious consequences. If you play with fire, you must burn yourself.
