December 10th local time, the Turkish Ministry of Defense issued a statement saying that at 15:25 that day, the northern Syrian town of Ras Ain was hit by a car bomb, killing two Turkish soldiers and injuring eight others.
The statement said that the site of the explosion was located in the operation area of Turkey’s “Fountain of Peace”.
The government of Shanle-Ulfa Province of Turkey said that Kurdish militants caused the attack, and the injured were being treated in hospitals, and an investigation has begun.
On October 9 last year, Turkish troops entered northern Syria to launch a military operation code-named “Fountain of Peace” to fight against Kurdish armed forces that they regard as a terrorist organization.
