Turkish Health Minister Koja said on the 24th that the test results showed that China’s vaccine was safe and effective.
The vaccine imported by Turkey from China will depart for Turkey on the evening of the 27th.
After chairing the meeting of the Scientific Committee, Koja said at a press conference that after the evaluation of the Scientific Committee, Turkey confirmed the effectiveness of the Chinese vaccine in local trials in Turkey and was convinced that the Chinese vaccine was safe and effective for Turks. China has completed the approval procedures for vaccine export, and Chinese vaccines will arrive in Turkey on the 28th.
Turkey plans to vaccinate nearly 9 million people, including medical workers, and Turkey has the ability to vaccinate an average of 1.5 million to 2 million people a day.
Koja also said that he would be the first batch of vaccinations with medical workers. Turkey does not advocate compulsory vaccination, but he believes that if persuasion is done, everyone will be vaccinated.
It is reported that China’s inactivated coronavirus vaccine began phase III clinical trials in Turkey on September 14. As of December 23, a total of 9,150 volunteers in 24 clinical trial centers across Turkey participated in the trial screening.
