December 24th local time, the New Jersey Governor’s Office announced that New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy will require all passengers from the United Kingdom to Newark International Airport to provide negative COVID-19 test results within 72 hours before arriving in the state.

“Starting Monday, December 28, all passengers flying from the UK to Newark International Airport must present a negative test for COVID-19 within 72 hours prior to departure,” Murphy said.

“We are experiencing a second wave of COVID-19 and it is vital right now that we take all precautions to mitigate the possibility of further transmission,” he said.

The previous day, New York Governor Cuomo announced new measures for passengers from the United Kingdom, requiring passengers from the United Kingdom to provide a negative test for the novel coronavirus.
