The Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an official statement on the evening of the 24th, saying that Tunisian Foreign Minister Osman Gerandi posted an article on Twitter confirming that he had tested positive for COVID-19 and had severe symptoms.
Gerandi tweeted: “Despite taking all the necessary precautions and following the relevant hygiene regulations, the test results confirmed that I had COVID-19 and had severe symptoms.
I pray to God to protect all people.
“This has reinforced his conviction that the need to protect the Tunisian people from the pandemic by providing vaccines,” Jelandi said.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Health of Tunisia, there are 2,165 cases of COVID-19 infection in Tunisia, including 418 severe cases.
So far, the cumulative number of confirmed cases is 816,128, and the number of deaths is 6,234.
