Tunisia will impose two weeks of entry restrictions

by YCPress

Tunisia’s national airline issued a two-week entry restriction on May 2, local time, aimed at curbing the spread of the new virus, the state news agency reported. The implementation period is from 3 May to 16 May.

These measures include the need for passengers travelling to Tunisia to provide a negative certificate of nucleic acid testing within 72 hours of departure at check-in at the point of departure and a certificate to be handed over to a temperature tester upon arrival at a Tunisian airport. Passengers who fail to provide a negative certificate for nucleic acid testing will be refused entry. Children under 12 years of age are not subject to this measure.

At Tunis airport, passengers will undergo a rapid antibody test, followed by a seven-day quarantine at a government-designated hotel at their own expense, during which time they will undergo a nucleic acid test, with qualified persons completing and signing health forms and commitments online.

More than 310,000 confirmed cases of Coronavirus have been confirmed in Tunisia, and more than 10,000 deaths have been reported. Since April, there have been about 2,000 new cases a day.
