December 25th – U.S. media said that U.S. President Trump has been complaining recently that U.S. Vice President Pence has not done enough to overthrow the election results. Trump met Pence hours before his vacation to Florida.
According to CNN, Pence will announce the winner of the U.S. election on January 6 next year under federal law. Sources said that Trump questioned Pence and asked him to overturn the election results on January 6.
Pence has tried to explain that the certified winner is only a form and that he cannot unilaterally overturn the electoral vote. After Trump and Pence met at the White House for more than an hour, after the meeting, Trump retweeted a tweet asking Pence to take action to block the certified electoral college vote. The two then went on vacation.
According to the report, after meeting Pence, Trump took his personal lawyer Giuliani to Mar-a-a-Lago on Air Force One for a holiday. U.S. media previously reported that Pence will officially confirm Biden’s election on January 6 next year, and then travel overseas immediately.
Pence left the United States to avoid Trump’s anger. He tentatively planned to visit countries such as Bahrain, Israel and Poland.
