New York, October 30th (Reporter Liu Yanan) Due to the significant decline of many major technology heavyweights and the low market sentiment, the three major stock indexes of the New York stock market fell significantly on the 30th.
As of the close of the day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 157.51 points to close at 26501.60 points, a decrease of 0.59%; the S&P 500 stock index fell 40.15 points to close at 3269.96 points, a decrease of 1.21%; the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 274 Points to close at 10911.59 points, a decrease of 2.45%.
In terms of sectors, the eleven sectors of the S&P 500 Index fell nine and two rose. Among them, the consumer discretionary sector and technology sector led the decline by 3% and 2.44% respectively, while the financial sector and energy sector rose 0.27% and 0.19% respectively.
This week, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the Standard & Poor’s 500 Stock Index and the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 6.47%, 5.64%, and 5.51%, respectively, the largest weekly decline since mid-March this year.
