ABC affiliate WLS-TV reported that a shooting occurred april 28 local time in Votoga County, North Carolina. The incident left two policemen, the gunman himself and their parents dead.
Reported that 28 at 9 a.m., the police received a call that a resident of Boone Town and his family did not go to work, nor answer the phone. Two police officers were shot at the scene at the request of the police.
The confrontation ensued for about 13 hours and the surrounding residents were evacuated. Of the two police officers who were shot, one died at the scene and one was rescued and taken to hospital where he died. According to local WSOC television, officials familiar with the matter said the gunman appeared to have finally chosen to do his part.
But he is also suspected of killing his mother and stepfather while allegedly shooting two police officers. A total of five people have been killed in the incident so far. North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper issued a statement Tuesday condemning the shooting and expressing condolences for the two police officers killed.
