According to the Korean Central News Agency, on the 8th local time, the Workers’ Party of Korea held the Second Plenary Session of the Eighth Central Committee, presided over by Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

According to the report, the meeting was held to consider and implement the 2021 work plans of various departments.

Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, made a work plan report for 2021.

Kim Jong-un said that the decision of the Eighth National Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea is a medium- and long-term task to be carried out in various fields in the next five years.

This plenary meeting should specifically study this year’s work plan and give instructions in the name of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Kim Jong-un pointed out that he should vigorously promote economic construction and show his determination and will to provide better living conditions for the people while continuing to implement emergency pandemic prevention.

In his work report, Kim Jong-un severely condemned the negative and conservative behavior of the state economic guidance organ in setting goals.

He said that we should seriously study and thoroughly overcome the negative factors hindering socialist construction and improve the combat effectiveness and role of party organizations.

In addition, Kim Jong-un has designated the metal chemical industry as the central link of the people’s economy and said that he would increase investment to increase the production of steel and chemical products.

The meeting also set goals for this year in the fields of electricity and coal industry, railway transportation, construction materials, light industry and commerce.
