The United States plans to build a nuclear power plant on the moon by the end of 2027.

The White House Press Service released a memorandum signed by Trump on the 16th, requiring the U.S. government to organize scientific research and development in the form of a national strategy to enable the United States to use nuclear energy in space.

The document, known as Space Policy Directive 6, sets a number of specific goals, including the establishment of a nuclear power plant on the lunar surface by the end of 2027, the use of nuclear energy technology to explore Mars.
