December 22 – According to a report by RIA Novos and Reuters, the U.S. Department of Defense said on the 21st that the U.S. State Department approved the sale of javelin anti-tank missiles to Lithuania, with a total value of 125 million US dollars.
The arms sales agreement includes 341 javelin F-type (FGM-148F) missiles, spare parts for command and launch units, and technical support.
It is reported that although the U.S. Department of State approved the arms sales agreement, it does not mean that the contract is signed or the negotiation is over. The Pentagon said that Lockheed Martin and Thor would be the main contractors for the above weapons.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Zaharova once refuted the rumor of so-called “invasion” by Russia, saying that Lithuania only obeyed other countries to curb Russia. The Lithuanian government supports endless offensive statements, which are not conducive to the country and the people. They are just doing what other countries ask them to do.
