On the same day, Pence announced the list of 18 people participating in the “Aramis” project, including 9 men and 9 astronauts, when attending the meeting of the National Space Commission at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Pence said that the astronaut team will “take us back to the moon and beyond”. The first female astronaut and one male astronaut to land on the moon in the future will be selected from this team.”
The name Artemis is taken from the goddess of the moon in Greek mythology, which corresponds to the project to realize the project of “the first female astronaut landing on the moon”.

In a press release released on the 9th, NASA said that according to the goals of the Artemis project, American astronauts will return to the moon in 2024.
