April 23rd, local time, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization (ACIP) recommended that the U.S.-wide moratorium on the use of johnson and johnson’s Coronavirus vaccine should be lifted and a warning label added to vaccine packaging.
By a vote of 10 in favour, four against and one abstention, the committee concluded that the benefits of the Johnson vaccine outweighed the risks. The panel recommends that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) put a label on the vaccine to indicate that it may be at risk of rare complications involving blood clots in female vaccinators under the age of 50.
