A reporter asked questions. We noticed that at the video dialogue with U.S. business leaders attended by Premier Li Keqiang yesterday, the U.S. business delegation said that it was in the common interest of both sides to avoid conflict and confrontation and promote Sino-US relations back on a constructive track. Economic and trade cooperation is the cornerstone of U.S.-China relations. “Decoupling” will bring great instability to the United States, China and the world. How do you comment on this?
Zhao Lijian said that this shows at least three points:
First, it is the mainstream public opinion of China and the United States to develop Sino-US relations that are non-conflict, non-confrontational, mutual respect and win-win cooperation.
Second, the essence of Sino-US economic and trade relations is mutual benefit and win-win. China and the United States should cooperate, not decouple, dialogue and confrontation, which is a strong call from the American business community.
Third, China’s development and progress have long-term certainty. The enthusiasm of the American business community to cooperate with China has not changed, and the confidence in China’s development prospects and market opportunities has not changed.
Zhao Lijian stressed that Sino-US economic and trade relations have a strong foundation and resilience. Last year, under the background of multiple shocks, the trade volume of China and the United States increased against the trend, indicating that the conditions and opportunities for bilateral cooperation exist objectively, and the development of economic and trade cooperation is mutually needed.
As a developing country with a population of 1.4 billion, 900 million labor resources and 120 million market subjects, the potential of the Chinese market is unlimited. The prospect of Sino-US economic and trade cooperation is expected. China is pleased to see greater success of American enterprises in China.
As always, it will welcome American and enterprises from all over the world to actively participate in the process of China’s reform, opening up and modernization, provide assistance and convenience for enterprises from all countries to invest and start businesses in China, expand the cake of common interests, and maintain the supply chain of the industrial chain. Security and stability, better achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
