Kunming, April 9th – The 10th meeting of the Expert Group on the Border between China and Bhutan was held in Kunming from April 6 to 9.
The meeting held in-depth and fruitful discussions on the border issue in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The meeting also discussed a road map to accelerate the negotiations on the China-Neutre-Neutre-Border negotiations. The two sides agreed to continue to maintain peace and tranquility in the border area between the two countries until the border issue is finally resolved.
Since the launch of the China-Non-Border negotiations in 1984, the two countries have signed guiding principles on the settlement of the border issue in 1988 and an agreement on the maintenance of peace and tranquility in the China-Non-Border area in 1998. The above two agreements form the basis of the China-China non-border negotiations.
The two sides agreed to hold the twenty-fifth round of border talks and the eleventh meeting of the Group of Experts on Border Issues as soon as possible at their convenience.
In order to show goodwill and friendship, the Chinese government has donated epidemic prevention medical supplies to Bhutan to support Bhutan’s anti-epidemic efforts.
