At present, the ship is on its first ocean cruise.
The Russian Northern Fleet said that Algeria was the first foreign port to be stationed by the Russian army during the ocean cruise.
Russian ships are also expected to visit ports in some Mediterranean countries.
The Northern Fleet said that the visit to Algeria would continue until January 20, and the ships would supply fresh water and food.
Due to the epidemic, sailors will visit the city limited, and there are no plans to visit and participate in large-scale events.
From 30 December 2020, the frigate Admiral Casatonov began an ocean cruise.
Again, the ship has sailed more than 4,000 nautical miles, and previously carried out exercises to search for enemy submarines in the Gulf of Biscay.
Before the first voyage, the Northern Fleet trained officers and soldiers for a long time. Sailors conducted training on all subjects at the Northern Fleet Base and Range in the Barents Sea, including several launches of “caliber” cruise missiles.
It is reported that the Type 22350 frigate is one of the most advanced surface combat ships in Russia, with a displacement of about 4,500 tons, equipped with four fixed multi-functional phased array radar and a vertical weapon launcher of unit 28, also known as the Russian version of S.H.I.E.D.
