According to the Russian Satellite News Agency on December 30, Alexei Krivochko, the Russian Deputy Minister of Defense, said that the issue of purchasing additional Su-57 fifth-generation fighter jets for the Russian Air Force was currently being studied.
Krivoruchko said in an interview with the Russian newspaper Red Star: “At present, measures are being drawn up to further purchase more Su-57 aircraft, which will be included in the new national arms and equipment development program.”
According to the introduction, the Su-57 fighter is also known as the “Frontline Aviation Future Aviation System”, and the experimental stage is called the T-50 fighter.
It is the fifth generation of fighter developed by Russia, which can be used to seize air supremacy, anti-ships and strike ground targets. The prototype was first launched in 2010.
The Su-57 fighter has advanced avionics and power systems, with supersonic cruise, super maneuvering, stealth and other characteristics. The Russian Ministry of Defense has repeatedly said that the Su-57 fighter successfully passed the test in Syria.
