February 3rd, the Kyrgyz Parliament held a plenary session and approved Urukbek Maripov as Prime Minister.
In accordance with the relevant procedures, after President Zaparov of Kyrgyzstan signs the parliamentary resolution on the election of Prime Minister, Maripov will officially take office.
Maripov, 41 years old, joined the office of President Ji as an expert in 2006.
He served as an assistant to the President from 2011 to 2015 and the director of the National Audit Office since 2016.
On February 2, President Zaparov of Kyrgyzstan said through social media that the number of ministries under the new government will be reduced from the existing 48 to 12, of which the Ministry of Defense is the new institution.
The Ministry of Defense will be formed on the basis of the National Defense Council and the General Staff.
