Bucharest, December 12 Romania’s Central Election Office announced the official results of the parliamentary election on the 12th. A total of five political parties entered the new parliament, and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) led other parties with nearly 30% of the vote.

The election results show that in the election of both houses of parliament, the Social Democratic Party led with 29.32% and 28.9% of the vote, respectively; the ruling National Liberal Party won 25.58% and 25.19% of the vote, respectively, ranking second; and the Alliance Party for the Alliance for the Rescue of Romania-Liberal Unity and Unity Party with 15.5%.

The third place was 86% and 15.37% of the vote. The Romanian Solidarity Union received 9.17% and 9.08% of the vote, respectively, and the Hungarian Democratic Union received 5.89% and 5.74% of the vote, respectively.

None of the other political parties reached the parliamentary threshold of 5%.

Since no party has obtained the parliamentary seats needed to form a separate cabinet, Romanian President Johannes recently announced that he will consult with the political parties in the new parliament on the 14th.

Romania held quadrennial parliamentary general elections on the 6th.

The current parliament is composed of 465 members of both houses of Parliament, of which 136 seats the Senate and 329 seats the House of Representatives.
