February 25th – On theĀ 24th local time, Marcia Bowser, 64-year-old sister of Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, died of coronavirus complications.
Bowser announced on the same day that 1,000 people have died of COVID-19 in Washington, D.C.
According to The Washington Post, Bowser announced the death of her only sister in a statement on the 24th.
Mercia Bowser retired from the Washington Office of Aging and developed pneumonia after contracting the novel coronavirus.
He died on the morning of the 24th.
Bowser also confirmed on the same day that 1,000 people have died from COVID-19 in Washington, D.C., urging Americans to continue to pray for those affected or even lost their lives during the epidemic, and asked for time and space to mourn her sister.
