January 28th – The far-right organization Pride Boy is regarded as the main instigator of the riots in the United States Congress.
Its leader is Henry Tario, 36 years old.
On the 26th, Reuters revealed Tario’s special identity, saying that after his arrest in 2012, he served as an undercover agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the local police, assisted in the investigation of the case many times, and “contributed greatly”.
Tario strongly denied this.
According to the 2014 federal court records in Miami, federal prosecutors, FBI agents and Tario defense lawyers mentioned Tario as an undercover mission in court in the case of Tario’s alleged fraud, and stressed that he assisted law enforcement agencies in prosecuting more than a dozen people, from drugs to gambling.
Bo, human trafficking, etc. are included, and the court is requested to lenient the sentence.
However, in an interview with Reuters, Tario, 36, denied that he had worked as an undercover agent. He said, “I don’t know anything about this.” He also said that the original sentence for involvement in the fraud case was 30 months, but the sentence was later commuted for only 16 months. However, he said that the court granted lenient sentencing because defense lawyers helped clarify certain doubts.
Johns, the former federal prosecutor in charge of the Tario case, confirmed to Reuters that Tario did cooperate with local and federal authorities to help prosecute criminals, including cracking down Miami’s marijuana-growing homes and pharmacy fraud.
Feler, who was Tario’s defense lawyer at that time, pointed out in court that Tarario worked as an undercover agent in many cases, including investigating cases of assimilation steroid trafficking, prescription painkillers and people smuggling.
Ferrer pointed out in court that Tarrio was an “great contributor” informant who assisted investigators in destroying three marijuana-growing homes.
Founded in 2016, Pride Boys is an anti-immigrant and all-male group.
At the first debate of the U.S. presidential election, Trump once said, “Proud boy, please stand back and stand by.”
On January 6, the United States was shocked by demonstrators, killing at least five people. The Pride Boy was regarded as the main instigator of the riot.
Two days before the incident, Tario was arrested by the police just after arriving in Washington on suspicion of illegal possession of weapons, etc.
Although Tario himself did not participate in the congressional riots, at least five “Proud Boys” have been prosecuted by prosecutors.
