February 24th – According to India Today, Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, a leader of the Andhra Pradesh People’s Party, threw a debate group during a live debate on the local news channel. The slippers hit him and the live TV broadcast was interrupted.
The debate was focused on the decision of the Andhra Pradesh government to extend the government guarantee and raise Rs. 300 crore from banks to complete the construction project of the ancient city of Amaravati.
News Channel hosts apologized to viewers for the riots in the studio, and other panelists involved in the debate were also shocked after the incident. BJP chief Somu Vilaju also condemned the incident on Twitter.
