According to local media reports, on December 31, 2020, local time, Savan, the chief investigator of the Beirut bombing, submitted all the investigation materials of the case to the Supreme Court of Lebanon, in response to the previous request of two former ministers to the court to replace the chief investigator.
The investigation of the case was suspended on the morning of the 30th local time until the court ruled.
According to the report, on December 10, 2021, Savan accused the caretaker Prime Minister Diab, former Finance Minister Khalil, former public works ministers Zaitel and Yusuf of neglecting their duties, causing the explosion.
Among them, Khalil and Zaitel accused Savan of violating the Constitution and asked him to avoid the investigation of the case.
