According to local media reports in Egypt, on December 18, local time, Alexander Province issued a statement on the official page of its social networking website that the governor of the province, Mohammed Sharif, was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus.

At present, Sharif is in good health and will be quarantined at home and continue to work remotely.

According to the report, Sharif met with a number of senior diplomats last week, including the Vietnamese ambassador to Egypt and the French Consul General in Alexandria.
