Judy Persichilli, the U.S. Commissioner of Health of New Jersey, announced on the 27th local time that a person infected with the first B.1.1.7 variant of COVID-19 found in the United Kingdom has been confirmed to die, becoming the first case in the United States to cause B.1.1.7 Cases of variant COVID-19 deaths.
Persidic said the patient had “serious underlying diseases” and had no history of international travel.
As of 27th, New Jersey reported eight cases of B.1.1.7 variant coronavirus infection.
At least 28 states in the U.S. have now found a total of 315 cases of B.1.1.7 variant COVID-19, according to a data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
