The 13th Central Committee will hold its first meeting on January 31 to elect a new General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, the Secretariat of the Central Committee and the Central Inspection Commission.
The 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam held a preparatory meeting on the 25th and officially opened on the 26th.
1,587 representatives representing more than 5.1 million Party members of Vietnam participated in the conference.
