Algerian Minister of Transport Farouk Chiari said on the 14th that the Sahara transnational road running north and south of the Sahara Desert will be completed and opened to traffic in June this year.
At that time, the countries along the road will hold a traffic opening ceremony in Niger to celebrate the completion of the road.
It is reported that this Sahara road runs from Algiers, the capital of Algeria, in the north to the Nigerian city of Lagos in the south, with a total length of more than 4,000 kilometers.
At present, the last section of the highway is under intense construction in Niger and is expected to be completed in May and June this year.
After the completion of the Sahara Highway, some branch roads will be built along the way to connect Tunisia, Mali and other neighboring countries.
