The conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the Nagorno-Karabakh (Naka) region continued on the 21st.

Azerbaijan News Agency quoted news from the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan as saying that from the 20th to 21st, fighting between the Ayas and the Ayas has been going on in front-line areas such as Fuzuli and Adala, and the Azerbaijani side shot down 3 UAVs.

The Armenian News Agency reported that there were still fighting in the southern and northern parts of the line of contact in the Naka region that day. The report quoted the Naka military department as saying that since the outbreak of the current round of conflicts, the number of dead soldiers on the Naka side has reached 834.

On September 27, a new round of conflict broke out in Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Naka region. Both sides accused each other of violating the previous ceasefire agreement and taking the lead in launching a military offensive.

On October 10, the foreign ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia issued a statement in Moscow saying that the two countries reached an agreement on a ceasefire in the Naka region and agreed to a ceasefire in the Naka region from 12:00 on the 10th local time. After the ceasefire agreement came into effect, the two sides continued to accuse each other of violating the agreement to launch attacks.

On October 17, the two countries announced that they had reached an agreement to implement a humanitarian ceasefire in the Naka region, and agreed to implement a humanitarian ceasefire from 0:00 local time on the 18th. After the new ceasefire agreement took effect, the two sides continued to accuse each other of breaking the ceasefire and launching attacks.

The Naka region is located in southwestern Azerbaijan, and its residents are mostly Armenians. After the disintegration of the Soviet Union, war broke out between Azerbaijan and Armenia over the ownership of the Naka region. In 1994, the two sides reached an agreement on a comprehensive ceasefire, but the two countries have been in a state of hostility over the Naqqa issue, and armed conflicts have occurred from time to time.
