January 15th, Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Diab signed a decree allocating 26.43 million li pounds to the Ministry of Health to pay for the second phase of the COVID-19 vaccine supply contract signed with the COVAX International Vaccination Platform.

According to the report, in addition to Pfizer’s 2.1 million vaccines, Lebanon has ordered more than 2.7 million vaccines from many other multinational companies.

The Minister of Health has previously said that he will provide vaccines to Lebanese citizens free of charge.

It is reported that Diab signed a decree on the purchase of Pfizer coronavirus vaccine on the 5th of this month.

The first batch of vaccines is expected to arrive in Lebanon in February.

It is planned to be vaccinated in the first month, and 50% of the population will be vaccinated by the end of 2021.
