The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) reported on January 5th local time that as Arizona’s COVID-19 cases continued to rise, as of the 4th, only 8% of intensive care beds and only 8% of regular hospital beds were available in the state.
According to data reported by the Arizona Public Health Agency, 62 percent of people in the intensive care unit are COVID-19 patients, and about 57% of ventilators are in use throughout the state.
Arizona Health Services reported 5,932 new COVID-19 cases and 253 new deaths on the 5th, with a statewide positive rate of 12.7%.
In addition, with the recent traditional holiday in the United States, the number of COVID-19 cases in many states has continued to rise.
Intensive care unit beds in many parts of the United States, including California, Florida, North Dakota and other states, have been completely saturated.
Some local hospital directors have even warned people that they will face rejection.
