Thai Prime Minister Prayut said on social media on the 6th that the Thai government has formulated a coronavirus vaccination plan, which will vaccinated at least 50% of the country’s population free of charge this year.

According to Singapore’s Lianhe Zaobao on the 6th, Prayut said that Thailand will receive 2 million doses of coronavirus vaccine from China’s Kexing Holdings Biotechnology Company during the “emergency phase” from February to April.

Among them, the 200,000 doses of vaccine delivered in February will be given priority to high-risk groups, such as medical staff and elderly people; in March and April, China Kexing will deliver 800,000 doses and 1 million doses of vaccines to Thailand, respectively.

Prayut said that the Thai government also ordered 26 million doses of vaccine from AstraZeneca Pharmaceutical Company in the United Kingdom, which is expected to be delivered in May.

In addition, the government will continue to purchase an additional 35 million doses of vaccine, with a total of 63 million doses to provide health protection for the Thai people.

Prayut also said that Thailand will set up a local vaccine production center at Siam Biosciences.

After obtaining technology transfer, Thailand will produce vaccines in accordance with the vaccine technical standards of Oxford University and AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals in the United Kingdom, with an annual production of 200 million doses.

Recently, a second wave of epidemic broke out at the wholesale market of aquatic products in Shamusakungfu in central Thailand, and the anti-epidemic situation is relatively serious.

Thailand reported 745 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus on the 4th, setting a record for new confirmed cases in a single day.
