Hundreds of thousands of people in Texas face power outages for four consecutive days. The extreme cold weather brought by winter storms in Texas caused many power plants in Texas to trip, causing an electric crisis.
At the peak of the power outage, about 4.5 million households and enterprises were affected, and nearly 120,000 people faced water supply disruptions.
Texas officials warned local residents that the power outage could last for several more days. More than 550,000 users in Texas are still out of power as of 8 p.m. ET. Residents in some areas have been facing power outages for several days.
Under the influence of extreme cold weather and snowstorms, at least 38 people in eight states of the United States have died from accidents such as carbon monoxide poisoning or car accidents.
