Taliban officials: Afghan government officials will be offered posts in the new government

Aug. 19 2021 Consultations between Taliban leaders and the Afghan government leadership are under way, Several Taliban officials said Thursday. Some Afghan government officials will be offered positions in the new government, and women will play a role in the new government.

A total of 12 people have been killed in and around Kabul airport since the Taliban entered the Afghan capital. These people died in shootings or stampedes. The Taliban are urging people without legal travel rights to leave the airport and return home.
