According to Syrian military sources, at about 056 a.m. on the 8th, several Israeli warplanes fired missiles from Lebanese airspace around the Syrian capital Damascus. The Syrian air defense system successfully intercepted most of the missiles, but the attack still injured some facilities and four soldiers.
According to Lebanon Lighthouse TV, Syrian forces launched anti-aircraft missiles, targeting Israeli warplanes flying in the Syrian-Lebanese border area, and loud noises can be heard in southern Lebanon.
On 16 March, Syrian air defense forces claimed that rural Damascus had been subjected to “invasion from Israel” and intercepted several missiles that had invaded Israel, but the Israeli military refused to comment on the matter.
