On the 10th, local time, a suicide bombing attack occurred in a cafe in Baidoa city, Bay Region, southwestern Somalia, killing at least four people and injuring six. Al-Shabaab, a Somali extremist organization affiliated with Al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the attack.
Local media reported that the attack targeted the governor of the state, but he was not injured in the attack. The Somali government condemned the attacks on civilians by Al-Shabaab militants.
Baidoa is one of the major cities in Somalia, about 240 kilometers southwest of the capital Mogadishu.
